Section in the admin panel: Warehouse → Offcut return plan.
What it is and why
One of the most important sections for material accounting and for controlling storekeepers. It is a "register of obligations" for returning offcuts from production back to the warehouse.
The logic is as follows. When an order is confirmed for launch, the system already knows — before the saw even starts — how the cutting will go: which sheets are cut, the length / width of every part, and — most importantly — which offcuts will theoretically remain (according to the optimizer's calculation). These offcuts must be returned to the warehouse into the appropriate cells of type "Sheet material offcuts" — this is material the firm has already paid for and can still use in subsequent orders. By our principle, not a single mm² of raw material may be lost.
In practice the storekeeper may "forget" to return an offcut, hide it in a corner, throw it away as rubbish, or take it home — and without control this will go unnoticed. The "Return plan" section is exactly there to prevent this: it shows for each order what should have been returned, what actually came back, and where the shortage is.
What you see
A register of items per order:
- Order
- ID and order code, status, confirmation / closing date.
- Material and size of the expected offcut
- Article, dimensions
X × Ymm, thickness. This is what the optimizer counted as an "offcut" during cutting. - Quantity by plan
- How many offcuts of the indicated size should be returned to the warehouse.
- Quantity by fact
- How many were actually received (storekeeper's mark with a link to the order).
- Shortage
- Plan − fact. If > 0 — the offcut did not come back. Row is highlighted.
- Shortage amount (at cost)
- The money lost on this unreported offcut. Calculated via the material price per m².
Filters
- Period — all time / 3 months / current month / last 30 / 7 days / custom range.
- Order status — usually orders with status "completed" or "issued" are of interest: they have already passed the full cycle and should have "closed the plan".
- Firm (only for the root firm's administrator).
- Only with shortage — the main working mode: see everything that has NOT been returned.
Actions
- Open order — navigate to the order card to see the original cutting and who worked on it (team / machine / shift).
- Close item manually — if the offcut is really lost / unusable / officially written off. The record is attributed to the responsible person with a comment — for further investigation and deduction.
- Receive the offcut after the fact — if the storekeeper has found the offcut and is entering it into the system retroactively. The record is linked to the plan and the shortage is cleared.
What matters
- This section works only if the firm has offcut accounting per order enabled (see Firm parameters) and the storekeepers mark offcuts in the system with a link to the order number when returning them. Without the link the system cannot "close the plan" — all offcuts will hang as a shortage.
- Pay attention to materials with a high cost (solid wood, acrylic, facade MDF) — even a single "lost" sheet may cost as much as several orders.
- Regularly (weekly/monthly) export the shortage table and review it with the storekeepers. Systematic losses by one employee are a signal for a conversation and/or deduction.
- The service's principle is — not a single mm² of raw material is lost. Every offcut that the optimizer put into the plan either returns to a warehouse offcuts cell or is officially written off with justification. There is no state of the material between these two.

Plan state
The filters contain a «Plan state» block — it answers the question whether the return plan is closed or not. Each option shows the number of records next to it:
- All records — no filter.
- Not closed — less has been received than planned and the line is not closed by a comment. The main working mode.
- Closed by receipt — as much as planned or more has been received.
- Closed by comments — the plan was closed manually: the reason field says why the offcut will not come back.
Totals for the selection
Above the table there is the total plan in m² for the applied filter and four cards with a ring chart: «Received against the plan», «Received by orders», «Received without orders» and «Received and available in stock». The last one shows how much of what came back actually lies in the stock now. If nothing matches the filter, a message that there are no planned offcuts is shown instead of the cards.
Printing a label
At the end of the row there is a «Print label» button. It opens the label of the planned offcut: the X × Y size in large type, the material, the code, the date and a QR code — as two identical halves, so it can be stuck on both sides of the offcut. The label can be downloaded as PNG, JPG or SVG.
