A section about two part operations that belong neither to drilling, nor to grooves, nor to cuts: stitching and trimming.
Stitching joins a part with a «lower part» into a single double part of increased thickness — this is how thickened fronts, aprons and worktop overhangs are made from an ordinary board. In the form you choose the stitching type from the library (it defines exactly how the two parts join and what edge step is formed), the material and edge of the lower part, and, for overlay types, the strip width. The thickness of the double part is calculated automatically from the thicknesses of both parts. There is also a quick mode — a stitching toggle right on the part card.
Trimming reduces a part by setting offsets from the top, bottom, left and right edges. The minimum offset is limited by a production setting, the maximum — by the part's dimensions.
There is no separate «rabbet» operation in the program: a rabbet (a step right at the part's edge) is an open groove with offset 0. It is made in the section «Grooves and groove templates».
Stitching turns a part and a «lower part» into a single double part of increased thickness. Here is how the stitching form works (stitching type, material and edge of the lower part, strip width, texture) and how to enab…
OpenTrimming reduces a part by offsetting from its edges. Here is how to set offsets from the four sides and what limits apply to the minimum and maximum offset.
