«Worktops» is a template-tree category with ready-made treatments for worktops.

Templates in the category

  • Worktop corner rounding — rounding the front corner of a worktop;
  • Worktop connector — a groove/holes for a connector joining two worktops;
  • Worktop lock — processing for a worktop lock (joint). The joint angle doesn't have to be a right angle: any value from 80° to 100° can be set, and the system recalculates the lock geometry for that angle.

How to apply

Open the templates window, choose «Worktops» on the left, then the needed template — fill the fields and press «Add». Since these are milling treatments, the form usually has a cut-edging choice; more — in the article «Template form: how to fill it in».

Editing the connector from history

An applied worktop connector can be edited directly from the part's operation history — the form opens with the parameters already filled in and a label showing the number of the template used.

Joint angle and the room-measurement calculator

In the «Worktop lock» template, the «Joint angle» field accepts any value from 80° to 100°, not just 90° — the system recalculates the shape of the male/female locks, the tie fittings' seats and the router paths for the chosen angle. For a U-shaped worktop, the left and right joints are set separately.

If the angle isn't known in advance, there is a hint button with a calculator next to the field: using an animated diagram, you enter the lengths of the four walls and the two diagonals of the room, and the system computes the angles of all corners. The second diagonal acts as a check — if the measurements don't line up, a warning appears suggesting the measurement be rechecked. The «Use» button plugs the resulting angle straight into the template field. After applying a template with an external lock, a hint shows how much the part needs to be enlarged for the lock.

Template or manual milling

If there is no suitable template, the contour can be built manually (see the section «Advanced milling»). General about templates — in the article «CNC operation templates».
