Edge rounding is milling the part's edge with a rounded profile instead of a sharp corner. This makes a soft radius profile of the edge (for example, on worktops and shelves). It is one of the four edge processing types.

Where it is set

Rounding is set in the common edge processing form — for the needed side of the part (top, bottom, left, right) you choose the «Edge rounding» type. The general principle of the form is described in the article «Edge processing: types and common form».

Enabling at production

The type appears in the list only if edge milling (rounding) is enabled at the production by a separate switch. If it is off, rounding cannot be chosen.

Choosing the rounding variant

Rounding is not set manually with numbers — the needed profile is chosen as a ready variant from the production library in the «Processing» field. The radius and shape are built into the variant; each edge needs a suitable milling tool, so the set of variants is determined by the production. A variant usually has a picture preview: a small image next to the field, opening enlarged on click.

Edge band

If the chosen variant implies banding the rounded surface, an additional «Edge band» field appears with the bands fitting by height.

Applying

After choosing the variant, press «Apply» — the setting is saved for this side. Each side of the part can be rounded separately.
