After choosing the countertop shape, the wizard shows a set of fields that depends on the shape. For the L-shape — one joint; for the U-shape — two independent joints (left and right), each with its own parameters.
Joint angle
Set separately for each joint. Allowed range — 80°–100°. If the angle differs from 90°, the wizard shows a warning hint with a diagram.
Joint mode: keep dimensions or trim to walls
- Keep dimensions — countertop sections stay the specified length regardless of the angle.
- Trim to walls — a section is trimmed to the actual room angle; an extra «Adjacent section length» field appears. This mode is available only for the L-shape — for the U-shape it is geometrically incompatible with two independent joints and is not offered.
AGT shift and dowels
For a non-right angle (≠90°) the wizard automatically:
- resets the tie-rod (AGT) shift — except in «trim to walls» mode;
- disables dowels for the whole countertop — if at least one angle in the shape is not 90°.
Joint edge banding and glass
The edge for the joint is selected separately; the list is filtered by minimum band width relative to the part thickness — bands too narrow for that thickness are not shown. If the base material is glass, a glass edge type is set additionally.
Room-angle calculator
Instead of estimating the angle by eye, you can measure the actual room: enter the lengths of 4 walls and 2 diagonals (the second diagonal is for cross-checking), the calculator solves the resulting quadrilateral and computes the real angle. The «Use» button fills the computed value into the angle field.
The same angle calculator and non-right-angle hint are also used in the general «Countertop lock» template form — for editing the joint after the parts have already been created, via the regular templates catalog.
