For postforming countertops (thickness 12, 28, 38 or 39 mm) the profiled side is not a glued-on edge band but a rounded profile of the material itself. This is a different mechanism worth understanding when working with such parts.

Automatic profile assignment

When a part is assigned a postforming material, the system automatically marks the bottom face as a postforming profile instead of a regular edge — there is no need to set this manually. Switching the material back to a regular (non-postforming) one automatically removes the mark; switching back to postforming re-applies it.

Height trimming and preserving the profile

If the height of a part with postforming needs to be reduced, the trim operation has a separate «Preserve postforming?» setting. It exists so trimming doesn't accidentally «eat» the rounded profile — without this safeguard, ordinary trimming logic could cut off the profile itself along with the material.

Cutting map

Sections of a compound countertop are placed mirrored relative to each other on the cutting map — as in an actual sheet layout. Because of this, the edge letters on the cutting map are also mirrored for the corresponding parts to match the real orientation on the sheet — don't be surprised if an edge letter on the map differs from the one in the detailing.
