The metreage from the summary turns into money during order costing. The company's server computes it — iFurn.pro sends the project, gets a ready calculation and shows it in the cart as the «Total for everything» line.
What the edging part consists of
In the order costing, edging is split into several components:
- The edging service — payment for the application itself: billing length × the company's service rate.
- Edge processing — chamfer, cut, rounding, recessed handles are counted as separate amounts.
- The band material — the cost of the tape itself: length × the catalog band price. A consigned tape enters with zero (see the «Client's own band» section).
- Additional services — what the manager or client added to a part or the order manually.
The rates are set by the company
The service metre price, the tape price, the processing rates — these are the company's settings in its services and materials catalog. In the project itself the technologist does not edit the rates: they build the parts list, and the costing substitutes the company's current prices automatically.
The total and VAT
In the cart the «Total for everything» line sums all the order's components — materials, the edging service, edge processing, CNC operations, additional services. Next to it the amount with VAT is shown: either «total + VAT = amount with VAT», or the final figure directly — depending on the company's display setting.
How to reduce the edging part
Knowing the components, the order can be deliberately optimised: remove surplus edging of hidden sides, replace an expensive tape with a more affordable one, drop optional edge processing. The summary shows where the most metres «hang», and the costing — where the most money is.
Bottom line
The band turns into money on the server: the service (billing length × rate) + edge processing + the band material, at the company's prices. The technologist sees the metreage in the summary and the total in the cart, while rate management is on the company's side.
