The same 3D view is built into the import pages. It shows not “something similar” but exactly what came out of your project — and it shows it right away, before the order is saved.
When it appears
Right after the Convert button: if parts were found in the project, the viewer opens by itself and a toggle button appears on the page. With it you can go back to the previous import scene and into 3D again — the model is not unloaded meanwhile, so switching is instant.
The 3D designer page has no separate Convert button: there the viewer opens as soon as the file is parsed.
If you start a new import, the old model is removed and the viewer hides until the next conversion — no foreign parts stay in view.
What can be edited here
On the import pages the viewer runs in edit mode, and things appear that are absent when you simply view an order:
- Rename a part — the pencil on the part card.
- Rename, merge and delete products — the buttons on the product panel.
- Remember this position as the home view — here the angle is saved into the order rather than only until a reload: from then on everyone opens the order at that angle.
All these edits go into the import data, not just into the picture: the saved order will carry the new names and the new split. The scene is rebuilt at once, but renaming a part and storing the home view do not shake it up — your angle and your selection stay put.
Why look at the 3D before saving
This is the cheapest point at which a mistake is still visible to the eye: mixed-up products, a stray part, a front on the wrong side. Fixing a name or a split here takes a minute; after saving and nesting it is a different story.
X-ray — see through the model
The "X-ray" button in the top bar makes the whole model semi-transparent — you immediately see the hidden joinery, connections and hardware. It now works even without a part selected: switch it on and the whole model turns translucent; pick a specific part and it becomes solid while the rest stay translucent. Before that, X-ray only reacted to the selected part, and without a selection the button did nothing. It is off by default so it does not get in the way of ordinary viewing.
