The «Plane treatments» window lets you apply a surface treatment to a part's side (front or back) for several parts at once.

What these treatments are

These are finishing operations on the part's plane — painting, patination, varnishing, grinding and the like. They are performed after all the machining operations (drilling, grooves, milling), as the final stage of surface finishing. That is why the window marks exactly the part's side (front/back) the finishing is applied to.

How to apply: three steps

It goes in three steps: choose a treatment, choose a material, mark the parts' sides.

Step 1. Choosing a treatment

First the list of the firm's available treatments is shown (the hint «Choose one of the available operations»). Each treatment is a card with a picture, a name, an external code and its id. Above the list there is a search by name. Click a card to choose a treatment; the reset button at the top returns to the list.

Step 2. Choosing a material

After choosing a treatment you choose a material (a drop-down of the materials present in the order). Only parts of this material will get into the table.

Step 3. Marking the parts' sides

A table of the chosen material's parts appears with the columns: No., Name, Sizes, Quantity, Front, Back (and Group, if the part belongs to a product). In the «Front» and «Back» columns there are checkboxes: mark the sides to which the finishing should be applied. Ticking applies the treatment to the side, unticking removes it. This way one treatment can be set on many parts at once.

If the side already has CNC operations

Since the finishing comes after machining, it is useful to see what is already done on the side. If a part's side has CNC operations (drilling, grooving, a notch), an indicator icon is shown in the side's cell: on hover it lists which operations are there.

Treatment compatibility

Treatments have compatibility rules (for example, only one treatment per side). If they trigger, when marking a side the system will offer to remove the previously applied treatment. More — in the article «Plane treatment compatibility».
