A through recess gets an inner wall (the edge of the opening). It can be left as is, banded or processed as an edge. These settings are right in the recess form.

When it appears

The block for processing the inner edge is shown only for a through recess — when the depth is greater than the part's thickness (see the article «Recess depth: blind and through»). For a blind recess it is not there, and if you reduce the depth to a blind one, the settings made here are reset.

Two processing options

Two mutually exclusive options are available (you can enable only one or none):

  • Edge banding — glue an edge band onto the recess's inner wall. When enabled, an edge-band selection appears; it keeps only the bands fitting by height to the part's thickness.
  • Edge processing — apply edge processing to the inner wall. The same types are available here as in the general edge processing: rounding, chamfer, bevel, recessed handle (see the article «Edge processing: types and common form»).

How to choose

Tick the needed option. Unticking it again returns «no processing». Since the options are mutually exclusive, edge banding and edge processing are not set at the same time — choose what is needed for the recess's inner wall.

If a free-form cut is chosen for an edge inside the pocket, the edge picker for it follows the firm-wide setting «Enable end-cut edge banding». With the setting off there is no edge field for such a cut in the pocket form, and any edging already set is cleared.
