When identical grooves are placed on dozens of parts — for example, a groove for the back panel on all the side panels — changing them one by one takes long. Group processing of operations works not only with holes but also with grooves: it selects the needed grooves across the whole project and, in one action, changes or deletes them.
What can be selected
In the group-processing wizard the «Grooves» operation type is chosen, then the grooves are narrowed by conditions:
- by materials and parts;
- by planes (sides of the part);
- by the range of width, depth and offset (an exact value or «from–to»);
- by type — open or closed.
Each condition has a counter of how many grooves fall under it.
What can be done
On the selected grooves the available actions are: change the width, depth or offset, move to another plane or delete. Before applying, everything is visible in the «Before → After» preview, and what the machine cannot perform is flagged and not applied.
Important
Group processing works with grooves entered manually. Grooves placed with a template are changed through the templates themselves (see the subcategory «Groove templates»).
