When there are dozens or hundreds of parts, dropdowns become slow: every band assignment is a click, a scroll, another click. For high-speed entry iFurn.pro has the quick band mode: instead of dropdowns — compact numeric fields, and a band is set by a digit from the keyboard without taking your hands off the size entry.

How to enable it

Open the table settings (the gear icon above the parts table) and enable the «Quick band mode» toggle. The edging column switches from dropdowns to four numeric fields with side icons: Top, Bottom, Left, Right.

The band number

In quick mode every band of the order has a number — its position in the order's band list: the first band is 1, the second is 2 and so on. Zero means «no edging».

To set a band, click into the side field (or move there with Enter) and type the number. To remove a band — type 0. If the typed number points to a band that does not suit this board (too narrow, or filtered out by the «matching band» mode), iFurn.pro sets «no edging» — you cannot make a mistake.

The name hint

Numbers are faster but less descriptive, so when a field is focused, a hint appears above the table with the full name of the selected band in the format [width/thickness] name. You type a digit — you see exactly what was set.

Thickness color coding

So that the bands are readable at a glance, each side's field is colored by the tape thickness:

  • White field — no band.
  • Blue — thin tape up to and including 0.6 mm.
  • Green — medium, over 0.6 up to 1.6 mm.
  • Red — thick, over 1.6 mm.

If the band itself has its own color set in the catalog, the field is painted with it.

A side's pre-jointing is shown by the font style: the number in the field becomes bold, italic and underlined.

Cycling with Space

In a side field the Space key cycles through the bands in order: 1, 2, 3… after the last one — «no edging», and the cycle starts again. Handy when the order has two or three bands: a couple of Space presses is faster than recalling the number.

Edge processing in brief mode

If you also need to see the additional edge processing (mitre cut, chamfer, rounding, handles), enable the «Edge processing in brief mode» toggle in the table settings: a second row of side icons appears under the band fields, with the letter of the assigned processing. Clicking an icon opens that side's processing settings.

Which mode when

Quick mode is for mass entry, when the operator keeps their hands on the keyboard and knows the numbers of the common bands by heart. Full mode is for thoughtful work with the list, when seeing the names matters. Switching in the table settings takes a second and does not affect the data — it is only a display mode.
