Admin panel section: Services → Services for machines.
This section is the «map» of how your machines and tooling perform services. Without it the postprocessor doesn't know which machine to give which operation from the order, and cannot automatically assemble sawing and CNC programs (see «Programs for machines»). After configuration the system handles all routing itself — the part automatically moves from machine to machine in the right order.
What it is
The link between a specific service and a specific machine of your firm, plus execution parameters: speed, priority, parent (preceding) operations.
Fields
- Service
- What the machine can do. Choose from Services. One service can be linked to several machines — the postprocessor picks the optimal one by priority and load.
- Machine
- Which machine performs it. Choose from Machines. The list is filtered by capability: for «edge banding» only edgebanders are offered.
- Speed per second
- How many units of the service the machine handles per second. If the service is m², speed 0.05 — that's 0.05 m²/s = 180 m²/hour. Used for production time calculation (when the order is ready) and the machine queue.
- Priority
- If several machines perform the same service — the selection order. Lower number = higher priority. The postprocessor distributes tasks among them automatically by load.
- Parent (preceding) operations (multi-select)
- Which services must be performed before this one. This is the part's route through the shop. Examples: «curved-edge banding» requires «contour routing» first; «blind groove on face» requires «cutting» and sometimes «straight cut». If the parent operation is performed on a different machine — the part moves between machines automatically in the right order.
Actions
- Create binding — service + machine + speed + priority + parents.
- Edit — usually the speed is adjusted after real productivity measurements.
- Delete — removes the service from the machine; on other machines with this service work continues.
What matters
- Measure real speed, not the datasheet. The datasheet value is for ideal conditions; the real one accounts for tool changes, stoppages, feed. The difference can be 1.5–3×. Wrong speed = wrong deadlines for the client = complaints.
- Parents are the part's route through the shop. Correctly configured parents = automatic planning, wrong ones = the part stalls on one machine, waiting for itself.
- Setup order on an empty firm: first machines, then tooling, then services in the general catalog, and only then these bindings. Violating the order yields validation errors.
- Review speeds twice a year — equipment wears, new staff works slower, after maintenance — faster. The numbers should reflect «today».
- Bindings together with tooling are what allows the postprocessor to work without a technologist's involvement. The more accurately described — the fewer manual program edits at the machine.
