In admin: Currency rates per firm — separate top-level menu item (NOT nested under «Parameters»). URL: /admin/currency_firm.php.
What it is
Currency rates for your firm. Used when a catalog item is in one currency (e.g., USD from supplier), but the client calculates in another (UAH).
Fields
- From currency
- E.g., USD, EUR, PLN, UAH. Select from the system currency list.
- To currency
- Target currency.
- Rate
- Float. How many "to" units = 1 "from" unit (e.g., USD → UAH = 41.5).
- Auto-update
- Checkbox. If on — once a day a cron pulls the current rate from NBU/ECB. If off — the rate is set manually and doesn't change automatically.
- Last update
- Read-only. Date/time of last rate change.
Actions
- Add currency pair — e.g., USD → UAH. And reverse — UAH → USD (if needed).
- Edit rate — for manual mode. Applies to new calculations.
- Enable auto-update — checkbox, the rate-fetching cycle via NBU API starts right away.
What's important
- Order calculations lock the rate at the moment the order is created. Later rate changes don't recalculate existing orders.
- If a currency pair has no rate — calculation fails. Always set rates for all pairs you use.
- For reverse conversion (UAH → USD from USD → UAH), the system can compute 1/rate or may require a separate record. Better to set both pairs.
- Auto-update runs via cron, typically once a day. If a rate moved abruptly — update manually.
