In the «Project materials» section every edge card has a selector for mass replacement — the client picks another edge from the project, and all parts that used the old one get the new one.
How it works
- The client adds a new edge to the project (via the catalog or the panel’s linked edges — see Edge-to-panel binding).
- In «Project materials» on the card of the old edge opens the selector.
- Picks a new edge from the list — all edges added to the project are shown, except the current one.
- The system reassigns the edge on every part where the old one was used to the new one.
What is affected
Edge replacement rewrites its binding:
- Edging on the part’s sides — sides that had the old edge now get the new one.
- Edge operations — grooves for the edge, end treatment by template, the «Sewing» operation — also move to the new edge.
- Calculation — is recomputed taking into account the price and consumption of the new edge (including its waste percentage — see Individual edge settings).
The selector appears only for active edges
The replacement selector itself appears only next to edges that are actually used on parts. But the list of options inside the selector is not filtered — it shows all edges in the project, including ones not yet assigned to any part. So an active edge can be replaced with one that is not in use yet.
Thickness compatibility
The selector does not limit the new edge by thickness — the client can pick any. But if the new edge width does not match the panel thickness, the calculation will show a warning, and the order cannot be placed until the mismatch is resolved. Read more — Edge–panel compatibility.
