Import from Blum Configurator into iFurn.pro works through the BXF2 format (Blum eXchange Format, version 2) - Blum's standard XML exchange format for hardware specifications and drawer systems. The importer supports BXF2 v1.1.0 with both schemas: the classic one (cabinetLink) and the newer one (containerLink).
This import brings in cabinets with Blum hardware: Tandembox/Legrabox drawers, Blumotion hinges, Movento runners - including all drillings and the attachment to the carcass.
What carries over
- Cabinet carcass - panel parts with dimensions and edge banding
- Drawer boxes - coordinates, dimensions, attachment to the carcass
- Hardware drillings - hinges, cam locks, drawer slides, soft-close dampers
- Hardware bill - Blum components for pricing
- Materials - mapped through the replacement popup to your database
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1. Build the cabinet in Blum Configurator
- Open Blum Configurator (the "Cabinet configurator" section).
- Build the carcass (base unit, wall unit, kitchen module).
- Add the Blum hardware you need (drawers, hinges, dampers, runners).
Step 2. Export to BXF2
- In the "Result" menu pick save to Bazis BXF2.
- Set a file name and location.
- You will get a file with the
.bxf2extension.
Step 3. Upload into iFurn.pro
- Open iFurn.pro.
- Open "Add project".
- Upload the saved
.bxf2file. - Wait for format detection - the system identifies
<bxf>with the correct XSD schema.
Step 4. Material matching
A material matching dialog opens:
- Left - materials from the imported Blum project (as named in Configurator)
- Right - a dropdown with materials from your iFurn.pro database
Pick the matching material for each entry. Then move the produced parts onto the selected material.
Two BXF2 schema flavors
cabinetLink (classic)
Used in older Blum Configurator releases. Describes the carcass and hardware through the cabinetLink binding. The iFurn.pro importer supports it fully.
containerLink (new)
Introduced in recent Configurator releases. Uses containerLink for a more flexible structure - several containers (compartments) with different hardware. iFurn.pro detects it automatically from the root tag and the XSD http://www.blum.com/BXF2/bxf2.xsd.
As a user you do not pick a schema - Blum Configurator exports into the right one, and iFurn.pro dispatches the correct parser.
What does NOT carry over
- Blum 3D visualization - only production geometry is transferred
- Blum price catalog - hardware cost is computed against the iFurn.pro catalog, not the Blum export (keep your Blum catalog in iFurn.pro up to date)
- Blum assembly instructions - download the PDF instructions separately from Blum
Common issues
- "File not recognized"
- Make sure Blum Configurator exported to Bazis BXF2 specifically and not Bazis BXF1 or another format.
- The matching dialog shows an empty list
- The iFurn.pro order must already have materials and edge bands - without them there is nothing to map.
- Hardware did not match the database
- The iFurn.pro catalog must contain analogs of the Blum hardware. If a fitting is missing, add it to your company catalog and retry the import.
- Drawer drillings end up in the wrong spots
- Check the Blum Configurator version - older BXF2 releases may use different mounting coordinates. Update Configurator to the current release.
