Once the client material is received into stock (or added directly to the project), it can be used in cutting on a par with normal sheets from the factory catalog. From the perspective of the part list and the calculation, the work is identical — only the source and the material price differ.
How the client connects their material to the project
Two ways:
- Via the «Client rests of materials» item in the order menu — the client opens the order menu (the «⋮» icon in the project header) and selects «Client rests of materials». The table shows their received positions. The client clicks «Add» next to the desired position — the material lands in the project.
- Via the «Add material» form — the client describes the material themselves (type, sizes, price 0) without binding to a stock remainder. Used when the material is brought during work on the project and is not yet received.
What the client sees in the project
In the «Project materials» section all project materials are listed. A material created in the order as a client material is marked with a user icon, and the client leftover it is taken from is shown in blue under its name. An accounted stock leftover has no such mark — it is added as an ordinary material, and its client leftover is enabled separately. The client can:
- Change dimensions, if they turned out different from intake.
- Change quantity (if, for example, they brought more or less).
- Remove a position from the project (if they decided not to use it).
- Attach their own edge to these parts — a client edge is added the same way, via the «Add material» form (type «edge»), and is assigned to parts as a regular one.
How client material behaves in calculation
In the part list, the project’s parts can rely either on catalog material or on the client’s material. The distribution is controlled by the «Order of material usage» setting on the panel card:
- «Client remainders and sheets» — priority on client material; the remainder is bought from the factory catalog. The most typical mode, when the client wants to make the most of their own.
- «Remainders first» (without client) — client material is not considered, the calculation uses the factory stock.
- «Sheets first» — client material is not used automatically; the client must explicitly add parts onto their material.
When the client material runs out
If parts don’t fit on the available client material during cutting, the platform:
- Uses the available quantity of client material for as many parts as possible.
- For the remaining parts proposes buying a new sheet from the factory catalog (at the normal price).
- In the calculation the material is shown as a single row (calculation type «sheet»): the quantity is given in m² and «in sheets: N», at the regular catalog price. The client's usable leftovers are shown separately in the leftovers column and labeled as the client's leftover on the cutting cards.
The client sees the final price and understands how much they saved thanks to their material.
Client edges — the same way
Client edges are added with the same «Add material» form (type «edge») and are assigned to parts as regular ones. The platform does not track or calculate the edge roll length or its remainder.
What happens after cutting
- The used client material is written off from the stock (if it was received).
- Business remainders from cutting the client material stay in the client’s stock — they are their property. The factory can either physically hand them to the client or keep them in storage for the future.
- The client operation log records: what was attached, how much was used, what is left.
