In the «Project materials» section materials and edges can be deleted — one at a time or in bulk. Deletion comes with a warning about the consequences; in some cases it is automatically blocked.
Pinpoint deletion of one position
On the material or edge card there is a red delete icon. A click opens a «Warning» window describing the consequences:
- Material deletion: «All parts will be deleted, are you sure?» — all parts using this material disappear from the project together with it.
- Edge deletion: «Deleting the chosen edge will result in the following changes: Edging on the part’s sides will be cleared. In linked edging operations the edge will be cleared but the operations themselves are kept. If the edge was used in end-face processing, the result depends on the processing type: arbitrary processing (an arbitrary bevel or groove) is kept — only the edge is cleared; processing created from a template is removed.»
The client confirms the action in the warning window — only then is the position deleted.
Delete lock — «material used in an item»
If the material is part of a finished item (a preconfigured item from the «Items / Goods» section), the delete icon turns gray, and on hover a tooltip «Material used in an item» appears. To delete the material the client needs to remove the related items from the project first — otherwise the item would be left without material.
Bulk deletion of selected items
Each position (material and edge) has a checkbox. The client ticks several and clicks the «Delete selected materials» button above the list. All marked items are deleted in one action, without separate warnings per item.
Deleting excess parts of a material
The material settings have a separate command "Delete all parts except selected": you mark the parts to keep, and in one action remove the rest of that material's parts from the project.
Full clean-up of the project from materials and edges
In the section header there is a trash button «Delete all materials and edges». A universal warning «All materials, edges, parts will be deleted, are you sure?» opens. After confirmation — the project remains, but the materials section is fully cleared.
What matters for the factory admin
- Deletion works only in editing mode (status «Draft»). After the order is confirmed for the factory, editing is closed and the delete buttons are inactive (see If saving did not work).
- If a client often deletes and re-adds materials — this is normal iterative work. System warnings give them control and prevent accidental loss of parts.
- Edge deletion preserves operation geometry (grooves for the edge etc.) but clears the binding to the specific edge. The client must reassign the edge or delete the operations, otherwise there will be validation errors at placement.
