In the «Project materials» section every edge can be assigned a color for display on the part drawing (in part detailing), and any material or edge can have its order in the list changed.

Edge color on the part drawing

On the left of the edge card there is a color circle. A click opens a palette (SketchPicker), where the client picks any color.

By default the color is computed automatically from the edge thickness z:

  • 0 mm — white (for cases when the thickness is not set).
  • Up to 0.6 mm — blue: thin PVC edge.
  • 0.6 – 1.6 mm — green: medium.
  • Over 1.6 mm — red: thick (e.g., 2 mm ABS).

The client can override this color with any of their own — the choice is saved in the project and used on the part drawing (preview in the part list). The cutting map does not show edge color.

Why change the color

  • To visually distinguish edges with similar thickness but different decors (e.g., two 2 mm edges, one white and one black — by default both are red on the part drawing; after changing the color they are immediately distinguishable).
  • To align the color in the visualization with the real decor color (e.g., a white edge is shown with a white circle rather than blue).

Order of materials and edges

To the left of every material and edge card there are ↑ and ↓ arrows. A click changes the position in the list. The order:

  • Is cyclic — after the first item the ↑ arrow jumps to the end of the list; after the last item the ↓ arrow jumps to the beginning.
  • Affects the display order in:
    • The materials list in the project.
    • Printed forms and reports (invoice, specification).
    • The cutting map — materials are iterated in the given order.

Does not affect the calculation — the final price does not depend on the order of positions.

When this is useful

  • The client wants the main material to come first in the invoice and the decorative/additional one to follow.
  • For printing a «specification in the order of use» — the factory asks that the materials in the invoice follow a specific technological order.
  • An edge in a non-standard order for grouping by decor in large projects.
