The «seam color» is the narrow line along the part's edge where the tape meets the board. Ideally it is invisible: tape, glue and board merge into one color. In iFurn.pro two settings work towards that result: the «Glue type» on the material and the color of the tape itself from the company catalog.
Setting one: the «Glue type»
In the material row open «Material settings» — there is a «Glue type» dropdown with three options:
- Transparent — the universal default: the seam takes its color from the tape and the board.
- White — for white and light boards: a white line on a white edge does not read.
- Black — for dark decors: graphite, anthracite, matte black.
The choice applies to all parts of this material and goes to production with the order — the machine operator knows which glue to load.
Setting two: the tape color
The tape carries its own color — it is part of its catalog name («white gloss», «sonoma oak», «matte black»), and if the company manager assigned the tape a color, the side's field is painted with it in the quick band mode. The closer the tape color matches the board decor, the less visible the transition.
What the part card does not have
A separate «seam color» picker on the part side does not exist — deliberately. The seam is composed of the material (glue type) and the tape (color), and both settings sit in their right places: the glue on the material, the tape on the side. A duplicating third choice would only breed contradictions.
The special case: laser edging
If the material's «Edging type» is LAZER, there is no separate glue at all: the glue layer is built into the tape and shares its color. The seam practically disappears — the most radical way to make the joint invisible (see the glue methods section).
What is in this section
Next — each part of the mechanics: how the «Glue type» works, what to do when the right color does not come out, how the tape color and the «matching» mode narrow the choice, how the edging type affects seam visibility — and why a band in the order list has a color marker with a palette.
