How visible the glue seam is depends not only on its color but also on the gluing technology. In iFurn.pro the technology is called the «Edging type» and is set on the material (and, with the company option enabled, on an individual part; details in the glue methods section). Here — how each type reflects on the seam.
EVA: a visible but controllable seam
Hot EVA glue gives the classic glue line. Its visibility is governed by the «Glue type» on the material: transparent, white or black — to the decor's tone. With a careful pair of «tape matching the board + glue in tone», the seam reads only on close inspection.
PUR: thinner and denser
Polyurethane glue is applied in a thinner layer and gives a less visible line than EVA. The color rules are the same — the «Glue type» on the material — but the line itself is narrower, so a tone miss is forgiven more easily. The bonus is a water-resistant joint.
LAZER: the seam disappears
In a laser tape the glue layer is built in at manufacture and shares the tape's color. No separate glue is applied. No visible line remains: the edge looks like a continuation of the plane. It is the most expensive type, but the only one with a truly «zero» seam.
Two independent settings
In «Material settings» two lists live side by side and are easy to confuse:
- «Edging type» (EVA / PUR / LAZER) — the gluing technology: machine mode, strength, service price.
- «Glue type» (Transparent / White / Black) — the color of the glue line for EVA and PUR.
They are configured independently: changing the technology does not change the glue color, and vice versa.
A practical cheat sheet
- A budget order — EVA + a «Glue type» in the decor's tone: a decent seam for minimal money.
- Kitchen, bathroom — PUR: a thin seam plus water resistance.
- Premium fronts — LAZER: no seam visible at all, the glue color does not matter.
