#315

When a sheet has been physically moved from one cell to another, the move has to be recorded in the system, otherwise on the next search the sheet will still "hang" in the old cell and the order picker will not find it. The move is done from the same inventory screen.

When a move is needed

  • The cell was freed for a more urgent order — what was there was moved into an empty cell.
  • Warehouse reorganisation: materials were re-sorted by type or by firm.
  • A sheet was put in the wrong place by accident — noticed and corrected.
  • It was received into one cell but then turned out it does not physically fit — moved to a larger one.

How to do it

  1. Open the offcut in the "Inventory" section — scan the QR from the label or type the ID by hand.
  2. On the offcut card tap "Move to cell".
  3. A cell search field opens — start typing its ID or name. Suggestions show the fill percentage of each cell (for instance, ID:42 Rack-A (67/80%)) — this helps you not to overload a packed one.
  4. Pick the right cell from the suggestion list.
  5. Confirm — the portal automatically updates the binding and shows success.

Which cells appear in suggestions

  • For warehouse staff and managers — all cells of the firm for goods (with the "actual" flag).
  • For a regular user — only the cells that personally belong to them (if your firm hands out cells personally for specific clients).

Protection against wrong choices

If you have no rights to the cell you are moving into (for instance, a cell of a foreign firm or one locked to another user), the portal refuses the operation with the message "You do not have access to this cell". The move does not happen in that case — the sheet stays in the old cell.

What is recorded

The old and the new cell, the time of the move and the worker. The entry goes into the operation history of the offcut — it can be reviewed in the main CRM (the "Warehouse" section in the admin panel).

What to do with the label

The QR code on the offcut label does not change on a move — it is tied to the offcut itself, not to the cell. There is no need to reprint the label. Only if the cell name was written on the label by hand — better cross it out so as not to confuse colleagues.
