A separate 3D view mode — shows not the whole order part, but exactly what a specific machine will "see" for a specific CNC program. Useful for checking before production: confirming the program contains exactly the needed operations, in the correct machine format.
How to open it
The machine-icon button in the 3D view toolbar. In the popup that opens, choose the machine, then the format, and click "Show programs".
What it shows
A warning banner appears at the top: "This is a preview of the part by machine programs", showing the machine and format. The part on screen isn't the whole part — it's a slice for exactly the selected CNC program: only the operations that actually belong to that program are shown. If several programs are generated for the part (e.g., for different machined sides), you can switch between them with tabs.
The operation-type filter panel in this mode counts from the active program's operations only, not the whole part.
Why the part looks unfamiliar
This is the picture of the machine, not the part in its own coordinate system: the edging and the operations may look mirrored compared with the way you are used to seeing the part in the order. That is intended — the mode answers the question of what will actually go to the machine.
Operations are shown in the coordinate system of the program; the browser does not recalculate them. The server remaps edges and end cuts from the sides of the part to the sides of the program in advance, using the same correspondence table as the post-processor. It depends on whether the machine is single- or double-sided and on the post-processor itself, so the picture matches what the operator will get.
Selection also works for operations that are not in the history of the part: an end cut, postforming, a wedge, edging. Selecting such an operation no longer goes out when the list is synchronised.
Tool passport
In this mode, the operation tooltip additionally shows data about the specific machine tool: its name and ID in the firm's database (important when several tools of the same diameter exist), diameter, depth per pass, maximum depth, and for milling operations — the cutter's approach side (left/right of the toolpath, front or back side).
Mode limitations
View-only — editing operations from this mode isn't possible: it's a snapshot for a specific physical CNC file, not a working copy of the order's part. To go back to the normal part view, click the corresponding button in the banner.
