#592

A 3D view is available for any part in a newgo order — the model is built from the part's actual contour, not a rectangular blank, showing all completed operations: drilling, grooves, pockets, contour milling, cuts, postforming, and glued edge banding.

How to open it

  • The spinning-cube button in the operations window toolbar — switches the part's drawing between 2D and 3D right inside the already-open window. Always works, regardless of settings.
  • The "3D" icon next to a part in the list (detailing) — opens the part's operations directly in 3D mode. Shown only when the default view is 2D (if 3D is already the default, a separate icon isn't needed).

Default view setting

The "Table settings" popup (the gear icon above the parts list) has a "Default part view — 2D" checkbox. It determines what opens by default when viewing a part's operations:

  • Checked — the 2D drawing opens by default; a quick-switch-to-3D icon appears next to the part in the list.
  • Unchecked — the 3D model opens directly by default; no separate list icon is needed, you can switch to 2D with the cube button inside the operations window.

The setting is remembered per operator (in the browser). If the firm has its own default, it's applied until the operator toggles the checkbox themselves.

If the 3D button isn't visible

The 3D view is part of newgo's base functionality, available to all operators with no separate access setting from the firm. If the "3D" button doesn't appear anywhere, that's a technical issue, not a plan or role restriction — contact support.
