#705

The 3D view shows the whole order — assembled products rather than a single part. The model makes it clear what the customer will receive, how the parts add up into products and in which order to assemble them.

Where it opens from

  • From the order — the 3D order viewer menu item. It appears once the order has parts with a ready 3D placement. An old order whose placement has never been computed will not show the item — save the order again.
  • From a link or a QR code — a separate page of the order in 3D that opens without signing in.
  • From the import pages — right after the project is converted.
  • From the part label — by the QR code on the label, with the 3D Order button.

What is on the screen

The button panel is at the top left, the navigation cube and the home-view button at the top right, the part list and the product panel on the right, the card of the selected part and the explode slider at the bottom.

  • Fit everything into view — fits the model on screen and returns the home angle.
  • X-ray — dims everything except the selected part, so it is visible through the others. On by default and works when a part is selected.
  • Explode — shows the slider: products move away from the centre of the model, parts from the centre of their own product.
  • Hide fronts — removes the fronts so you can look inside. The button is absent if there are no fronts in the scene.
  • Show all — brings back what was hidden and cancels isolation. It appears only when something is hidden.
  • Part list, Products, Assembly instructions, Cutting maps open the matching panels. Cutting maps appear only when the order has been nested.

The first time you open the view, four hints appear one after another at the bottom — about rotation, selecting a part, the double click and the explode slider. They disappear on the first click in the scene.

If the model did not open

Instead of the scene you get a short explanation: the order was not found or has no parts yet, there is no connection to the server, or there were too many requests — in that case wait a minute and press Refresh.

How accurate the model is

The 3D view is an assembly diagram, not an exact copy of the part. A part is always drawn as a rectangular board of the right size: holes and grooves are shown as overlays on top of it, while millings, pockets and a shaped contour do not affect the form at all. A part with a cut-out or a rounding looks like a plain rectangle in 3D.

The model is good for checking the contents of the order, the split into products and the assembly order. It does not replace the drawing: for the shape, the dimensions and the machining look at the 2D drawing of the part.
