The Assembly instructions button turns the viewer into a step-by-step mode: the product is assembled on screen part by part. The panels and view switches — X-ray, Explode, Hide fronts, Show all, Part list, Products, Cutting maps — are hidden meanwhile so they do not get in the way. Fit everything into view and the home-view button stay: the model can be brought back into frame without leaving the assembly.

The panel on the right

  • Products — the list of the products in the order with their sizes. A click chooses which product the steps are built for.
  • Parts of the step — the parts of the current step: position number, name, size and quantity. A click on a row zooms to the part.
  • Three PDF buttons — a separate article covers them.

The step bar at the bottom

  • Step N / M and the product name.
  • The step heading and its note.
  • The hardware of the step as chips reading “name × quantity”.
  • ◀ Back (disabled on the first step), the progress bar and Next ▶. On the last step the button becomes ✓ Done and leaves the mode.

The steps also turn with the keyboard: ← and →, and Esc leaves the mode. Hover over a part in the scene and a caption appears next to it — “№position · name W×H×T” — while the matching row in the parts of the step lights up.

How the steps are built

The order of the steps is fixed and always the same:

  1. Carcass — bottom and sides
  2. Carcass — partitions and top
  3. Back panel (HDF)
  4. Supports / legs
  5. Drawers
  6. Shelves
  7. Fronts and doors
  8. Plinth / extras

Empty steps are not shown. If the product has no shelves, there simply is no Shelves step and the total number of steps goes down. The Supports / legs step is built not from parts but from hardware: it appears when there are legs among the hardware, and its note says how many supports to screw to the bottom. The Drawers step is the opposite — it comes from drawer parts.

If a step has more than ten parts it is split into pieces, and the heading gains a note like “piece 1/3 · parts 1–10 of 24”.

Parts whose type could not be worked out are not lost: thin ones, up to 4 mm, go to the back panel, the rest to the carcass partitions and top. Hardware other than legs attaches to whichever step holds the parts it is physically closest to.

Where the part type comes from

The type is resolved in order: first the front flag stored when the order was split into products, then the part name, then its features — thickness, size, edge banding and machining. Other stored types never reach the assembly, so the name decides: shelf, bottom, back, drawer or front in the name land in the right step at once, while “Part 12” is sorted by features — as it turns out.
