The "Save" button moves your current project from the browser to the factory's server storage. It's the final step for any chunk of edits — without it, your changes remain only in this browser on this device.

Where the button is

In the newgo constructor header, to the right of the project name — a button with a floppy-disk icon, next to the version list icon. It is always visible while you are inside a project.

The "unsaved changes" indicator

When you change something in the project, the «Save» icon starts blinking orange. This means:

  • The browser has already saved your edits locally — they won't be lost if you accidentally close the tab (see Browser autosave).
  • The server doesn't yet have the changes — other devices and other factory employees who opened the same order don't see your edits yet.

The blinking stops after a successful save.

What happens when you click

  1. The browser sends the current project state to the server.
  2. The server records a new version of the order and confirms success.
  3. The «Save» icon stops blinking.
  4. A new entry with the current date and time appears in the version list (the icon next to «Save»).

When to click "Save"

  • After a meaningful chunk of work — when you've finished adding parts, assigning materials, placing operations.
  • Before closing the tab or signing out of the account.
  • Before leaving the project page for another section of the account.
  • Before confirming the order to the factory — this is the final point of editing. After confirmation the project becomes "view-only" and clicking "Save" no longer works. Contact your manager if you need to make changes to an already-confirmed order (see also How many versions are kept).

When saving isn't required

If you're only viewing the project without changing anything, you don't need to click "Save" — the changes indicator won't appear; there's nothing to save.
