A ready template is placed on a part in a couple of clicks — without manually entering groove dimensions. A part has a «Grooving template» button: it opens a window where the template is applied to the needed sides.
Where to open
The «Grooving template» button (with a groove icon) is at the part. Clicking it opens the template-application window; next to the button there is a «?» icon that opens this help.
What is in the window
In the window there are four positions by the sides of the part (top, bottom, left, right), each with its own icon. For a position two things are set:
- «Operation side» — on which side of the part the groove will lie;
- «Grooving template» — which template to apply; in the list there are the company's templates in the format
[number] name, with a groove preview next to it.
If the company has no grooving templates, the window will say: «No grooving templates».
Template and side — together
The template and the side are set in pair: you cannot choose a template without a side or a side without a template — such a position will be highlighted as an error and not applied. Fill in only those positions where a groove is actually needed.
Application
The «Send» button creates grooves on the part from the parameters of the chosen templates — width, depth, offset and colour. Such grooves are open and linked to their template (unlike grooves entered manually in the form).

What is applied and where is visible right on the part by the four sides with the template's number and colour (see the article «Templates on a part: the four-sides view»).
