A curved part is set up in iFurn.pro the same way as a straight one: the band is chosen in the part row, the edge processing — in a separate window. There is no special «curved mode» — the curvature arrives with the part and lives in its data.

Where the curvature comes from

The technologist does not «make» a side curved with a button. A part becomes curved by one of these paths:

  • Via a part template — typical shapes are pre-built; adding a part from a template substitutes the curvature automatically.
  • Via milling — a non-standard contour is set by a milling operation, and the affected sides receive the curved mode.
  • Via import — parts arrive with the geometry already described.

The indicator in the table is the highlighted side icon in the edging column. If the shaped operation is removed, the curved mode is taken off the freed sides automatically too.

The band on a curved side

The dropdown is the same as on a straight side: «No edging» plus the order's bands in the format [width/thickness] name, with the same auto-filtering by width and the «matching» mode. Matching the band to the radius is on the technologist: there are no «won't make the radius» hints, so thin flexible tapes are picked for tight arcs (see the article on tapes for curved work).

Edge processing

Additional processing (rounding, handles, cut, chamfer) is configured in the «Edge processing» window — just like for straight parts: a type from the company's variants, the specific variant, the «Custom» cut mode with a 5°–45° angle and an offset, the «Apply» button.

«Apply to all sides»

The fifth dropdown in the row sets one band on all four sides at once — handy for parts with the same band around the whole contour, like a round tabletop.

What happens automatically

  • Every choice is saved at once, with no «Save» button.
  • Sizes and costing recalculate on every change.

What iFurn.pro does not have

  • No splitting the contour into «segments» with different bands on one side — a side carries one band as a whole.
  • No «radius-band compatibility» indicator — the choice is the technologist's.
  • No manual «curved side» switch — only automatically from the geometry.
  • No special «curved edging wizard» — the same two levels as the straight one.

Bottom line

The only difference between a curved part and a straight one is in the geometry data: the curvature comes from a template, milling or import and is highlighted by the side icon. The process itself — the band in the row, the processing in the window — is the same for any part.
