The situation: the edge gives away the joint after banding — the glue line reads against the tape and the board. In iFurn.pro this is solved by a combination of two settings and two organisational paths. In order.
Step 1. Change the «Glue type» on the material
Open «Material settings» → «Glue type». Three options — Transparent, White, Black — cover most cases: a white board with a white tape needs white glue, graphite needs black, wood decors usually live well on transparent. This is the fastest fix — one setting for the whole material.
Step 2. Pick a tape closer to the decor
If the line is visible because of the color difference between the tape and the board, the glue is not the problem — a different tape is needed. Look through the other options in the side's dropdown: the color is in the name. If the material has «Matching only» mode on (the «Band usage» setting), the list is already narrowed to the tapes the company manager pre-approved for this board — ready, verified pairs.
Step 3. Ask the company manager to add a tape
If the catalog has no suitable decor, the most systematic path is for the company manager to add a new tape to the catalog: a name with the color, width, thickness, and optionally a link to the board for the «matching» mode. Once added, the tape appears in the lists for all the company's clients.
Step 4. Bring your own tape
If waiting for the catalog is not an option, add your own tape via «Client's own materials»: name, width, thickness. Such a tape is available only in the current order and does not enter the common catalog; the edging service is charged as usual, while the tape itself is not billed by the company.
The radical option: laser edging
If the company supports the LAZER edging type, the glue line disappears as a class: the glue layer is built into the tape and shares its color. The type is switched in «Material settings» → «Edging type» (see the glue methods section).
What iFurn.pro does not do
- It does not auto-pick the «closest» shade — the choice is the technologist's.
- It does not warn about a color mismatch between the tape and the board — pairs are governed by the manager-configured «matching» mode.
- It does not offer «painting the edge instead of the tape» — edge painting does not exist in the system.
Bottom line
An invisible seam takes two moves: a «Glue type» matching the decor's tone plus a tape matching the board. If the catalog falls short — the manager adds a tape or the client brings their own. The maximum is the laser type, where no seam remains at all.
