The «Matching band only» mode changes the rules of the game for a material — and iFurn.pro makes sure the rule change does not break work already done. Two mechanisms live here: a check on enabling and the protection of assigned bands.
The check on enabling
«Matching band only» can be enabled only for a «clean» material: the system checks all its parts, and every side carrying a band outside the linked list counts as a conflict. Disabling the mode needs no checks — it is always safe.
The «Parts with a mismatched band» window
If conflicts exist, enabling is blocked and a window with the list opens. It contains:
- The message: «Cannot enable «Matching band only»: some parts have bands outside the linked list. Replace or remove those bands first.»
- The «Total conflicts» counter — and for very large lists the first 200 rows are shown.
- For each part — its number and name, and below the offending sides with the side icon and the band in the format
[code] name.
The action plan from the window is obvious: walk the list, replace or remove the listed bands — and enable the mode again. In «Material settings» the same switch («Band usage») simply will not engage on conflicts — without a window.
The protection of assigned bands
The enabled mode narrows only future choices — it does not reset the bands already standing on sides. Even if a part keeps a tape outside the linked list, it continues to display by name and goes into the order. This is deliberate: reopening a saved order must not silently lose its edging.
A side is zeroed out automatically in only one case — when its tape has disappeared from the order entirely (removed from the project's band list): there is nothing left to reference.
Replacing a tape across the order
On a mass replacement of one tape with another, the system checks each part: the new tape is set only where it passes by width — and with «matching» on, by the links as well. Parts that fail keep the old tape.
Bottom line
«Matching» compatibility in iFurn.pro is strict at the entrance and careful with what is done: enabling the mode is verified by a conflict list down to the last side, and already assigned bands are never silently reset.
