Export Materials Database from iFurn.pro to Bazis-Furniture Maker via XML

Transferring the materials database from iFurn.pro to Bazis-Furniture Maker through an XML nomenclature import is the fastest way to sync catalogs - MFC boards, edge banding and hardware. Once transferred, you can design in Bazis using the same SKUs, thicknesses and parameters as in iFurn.pro, with no manual catalog duplication.

This workflow runs in the reverse direction compared to a project import: you export the catalog from iFurn.pro and load it into Bazis.

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1. Download the materials library from iFurn.pro

  1. On the main order page in iFurn.pro open the "Extra functions" menu.
  2. Pick the "Bazis" section.
  3. Download the materials-library archive.
  4. Unpack the archive - inside you will find an XML file ready for Bazis.

Step 2. Import the nomenclature into Bazis-Furniture Maker

  1. Open Bazis-Furniture Maker.
  2. Open "Settings" -> "Materials database".
  3. In the "File" menu pick "Import nomenclature" -> "from XML".
  4. In the dialog pick the unpacked XML file from iFurn.pro.
  5. Tick "by SKU AND name" - that is the correct matching mode, so subsequent imports do not duplicate materials.
  6. Click the load button.

Step 3. Assign material types

After loading, Bazis asks you to set the type for each group of items:

  • MFC - the main panel material
  • MDF - for fronts and decorative elements
  • Edge banding - PVC, ABS, melamine
  • Hardware - hinges, drawer slides, cam locks
  • Glass, mirrors - a separate type

Bazis remembers your choice for each group - on later imports the assignment is automatic.

When to refresh the library

  • When a new material is added in iFurn.pro - repeat the export/import
  • When supplier prices or SKUs change - update the catalog in iFurn.pro, then push it to Bazis
  • Monthly - as preventive housekeeping, so discrepancies do not accumulate
  • Before a major project - especially if a new supplier is involved

What carries over

  • Material SKU (internal code)
  • Name
  • Thickness and sheet dimensions
  • Price per m2 or per sheet
  • Material group (category)
  • Supplier
  • Edge banding with thickness (for paired board/band materials)

What does NOT carry over

  • 3D textures - Bazis uses its own visualization library
  • Production parameters (allowances, processing routes) - configured separately in Bazis
  • Stock balances and warehouse data - inventory stays in iFurn.pro

Common issues

"XML import is missing from the Bazis menu"
Older versions of Bazis-Furniture Maker do not support XML import. Minimum version is 11.5.
"Materials are duplicated after a repeat import"
Make sure the "by SKU AND name" option is enabled. Without it every import creates new entries.
"Edge bands did not match boards"
In Bazis an edge band must live in the same group as the board. If your iFurn.pro edge band is in a separate group, move it to the correct group after import.
