While working on an order it often happens that the material of one or several parts needs to be changed: the client changed their mind about the décor, the company ran out of stock of the needed material, a more suitable analog was found. In newgo, a part's material is changed right in its row — one part at a time.
How to transfer
- In the part's row, open the «Material and product» list.
- Pick another material — the list contains those connected to the project (the set of project materials is managed separately).
- The part's material changes immediately.
Material is changed one part at a time — there is no bulk change of several parts at once in a single action.
What is preserved
- Part dimensions (if the new thickness matches the old one).
- CNC operations — coordinates and parameters stay.
- Notes and binding to a group/item.
What may need fixing
- Edge banding — if its width does not fit the new thickness, the system warns and offers to pick a compatible edge band.
- Texture — switches to "no direction" if the new material is plain.
- Thickness dimensions — if the new thickness differs, face operations are recomputed (e.g. groove depth).
