A company manager can export a CNC program for one specific part without running the full nesting of the order. The file is prepared right away for the selected machine and post-processor format.

Who can use it

The feature is available to company managers only. A customer never sees this button — it appears only when a manager is working with the order.

When it is needed

  • An urgent remake of a single part — a defect or a replacement for the customer.
  • A test run of a new operation on the machine before series production.

Where the button is

The "Export file" button is an icon in the part actions menu. In the order header there is a companion button, "Post-processors", which does the same for all parts of the order at once.

The button is not always shown. It will be missing if:

  • the part has no CNC operations at all (drilling, grooves, milling and other machining; a chamfer counts only when an angle, an offset or a template is set for it);
  • the part material is glass;
  • the order can no longer be edited.

How to export

  1. Open the part actions menu and click "Export file".
  2. In the "Select machine and post-processor format" window choose the machine and the file format — these are two separate lists.
  3. For some formats you additionally specify whether to export the part or the blank.
  4. Click "Send". The project is saved automatically before the export, after which the program opens in a new tab.

What else is in that window

  • CNC testing — run the part through virtual machines, including ones you do not have in the workshop. See the article "CNC testing on virtual machines" for details.
  • Machine program preview — view the program in 3D without exporting a file.
