While you're working on a project — adding parts, changing materials, assigning edging — the browser automatically saves a copy of your edits locally. This is a safety net in case you accidentally close the tab, the browser restarts, or the server connection drops: your changes are not lost and are picked up the next time you open the project.
When autosave triggers
Automatically — on every meaningful change to the project: adding or removing a part, changing material, assigning edging, entering a processing operation. You don't need to click anything — the browser updates the copy on its own.
How to tell there is an unsaved draft
When there are unsaved changes, the «Save» icon in the project header starts blinking orange. This means the current version of the project in your browser differs from the one on the server.
To commit the draft to the server (so it becomes available from other devices) — click «Save» in the header. After a successful save the blinking stops and the draft is considered «merged» with the server version.
What the browser keeps
The browser keeps:
- The parts list and their dimensions.
- Assigned materials and edging.
- CNC operations — holes, grooves, milling.
- Filled-in delivery address and order details fields.
That is, everything you've entered by hand in the current session.
When autosave does NOT work
Draft autosave only triggers while the order is in "Draft / in editing" status. As soon as the order is moved to the next status (you or your manager confirmed it to the factory), the project becomes "view-only" — no further edits are made, and the local draft in the browser for that order is automatically cleared.
When the browser draft is cleared
- After a successful click on "Save" — the draft is no longer needed; its place is taken by the server copy.
- When you sign out via the "Sign out" button.
- When you switch factories via the switcher in the header.
- When you clear site data in your browser settings.
