Admin panel section: Edge processing → Recessed handles (/admin/v2.php?r=edge-edit-handle).
What it does
A recessed handle is a milled pocket in the edge of a front that you grab to open the door or drawer. Used in handle-less furniture: nothing protrudes from the front, the face stays a clean plane. Two main types: J-profile (a groove along the whole edge) and spot (a short finger window).
Fields
- Name
- Free-form text for the catalogue: «J-profile 18 mm», «GOLA horizontal», «Pull-line vertical».
- Profile / bit shape
- Pocket geometry. J-profile needs groove depth, width and corner radii. Spot handle needs window length, width and depth. Each profile maps to a specific CNC bit: one shape = one tool, no bit swap means exactly that geometry.
- Depth (mm)
- How far the bit enters the panel from the edge. Typical 18–22 mm for 18 mm chipboard. Less = no room for fingers; more = risk of weakening the edge.
- Price per m (or per pc)
- Continuous J-profile is priced per meter; spot handle is priced per piece.
- Machine
- Pick the CNC machine that carries the right bit (profile or pocket cutter). Maintain the list in Settings → Machine services; add the machine and check «recessed handles». Without the binding the program generator cannot pick the right code path.
How it differs from other edge ops
- Recessed handle — functional finger pocket, ergonomic element.
- Chamfer and rounding — decorative treatments of a visible edge.
- Angled cut — a slice across the full panel thickness for corner joints.
