Admin panel section: Edge processing → Edge chamfer (/admin/v2.php?r=edge-edit-faska).

What it does

A chamfer is an angled cut on a part’s edge (typically 45°). Two reasons to use it: aesthetics (the board looks thinner and tidier) and chip protection (a softened edge resists chipping and accepts edge-banding better). Common on countertops, fronts and any visible cabinet edge.

Fields

Angle (deg)
45° — universal classic. 30° — shallow chamfer, more flat surface remains. 60° — steep, closer to a round-over. If your machine has a fixed-angle cutter, enter that exact angle and use only that bit.
Chamfer size (mm)
Width of the chamfer along the edge. For 16–25 mm chipboard a typical size is 2–5 mm; over 5 mm becomes a visibly notched edge. Curved-edge countertops usually ≥ 6 mm.
Price per m
Cost per linear meter of processed edge.
Machine
Pick from your CNC machines list (populated in Settings → Machine services). The link is what tells the program generator which g-code/MPR to produce and which bit to use. If the dropdown is empty, first add your machine in «Machine services» and tick the «chamfer» operation.

Chamfer or rounding?

  • Chamfer — sharp angle, crisp geometry (decorative «pencil» edge, visually thinner front).
  • Rounding — soft arc (kids furniture, hand-facing edges, smooth face-to-edge transition).
