The iMOS/DXF button on the order creation screen is a separate import. It accepts only .dxf files and only one at a time: this is the export of the whole assembly from iMOS. A file in another format is rejected and the import suggests opening the import for that format instead.
What is read from the file
- Project parts with their sizes — length, width, thickness.
- The position of every part in the assembly: the preview shows an assembled product, not a row of blanks.
- Machining recognised from the geometry: boring, grooves, rectangular pockets, contour millings.
- Edging — from the part geometry and its thickness.
What you have to pick yourself
- The board material. DXF does not carry it at all — parts arrive with no material. After the upload a matching wizard opens and you choose the product.
- The edge material. The import warns you explicitly: "Edging was detected from geometry. Choose the materials for it" — there is no edge code in the file.
- Part names. DXF has none either: a part is called "Part" plus its internal iMOS number.
What this import does not do
- It does not carry hardware into the order.
- It does not accept MPR files — those have their own HOMAG/MPR button.
- It does not support inclined holes, curved or non-rectangular pocket floors, or branched contours. Such places are listed in the warnings with the part number, while the part itself still loads.
If the file did not open
The answer "No iMOS parts found in the DXF" means the file has no solid bodies of parts — check the export mode. If the format is right and the import still complains, send the file to support.
