A group combines the project parts under one name with a common quantity. Groups are managed on the «Groups» tab.
What a group is
A group (in the data — a «product») is a named set of parts with its own quantity. The group's quantity works as a multiplier: when it changes, all parts in the group and the related services are recalculated. So it is handy to set, for example, «Cabinet» with quantity 3 — and all the cabinet's parts will be counted threefold.
Creating a group
In the «Add group» form, enter a Name and a Quantity (at least 1) and press «Add». The group will appear in the table below.
The groups table
Groups are shown as a table with the columns No., Name, Qty, Actions.
Changing the name and quantity
Next to the name and the quantity there is an edit icon: clicking it makes the field editable. After the quantity is changed, the services for the group's parts are recalculated.
Merging groups
On the «Groups» tab you can select several groups and merge them into one — the parts and quantities of the merged groups are combined.
Deleting
In the «Actions» column, the delete icon removes the group. When deleting, you can choose a mode: delete the group's parts along with it, or only unlink the parts from the group, leaving them in the project without a group.
