Section in the admin panel: Warehouse → Warehouse cells.

What this is

A cell is a physical location in the warehouse to which products / stock / orders are bound. Each one has a name, a colour (for visualising occupancy), dimensions X × Y × Z (mm) and a maximum fill limit in %. A warehouse consists of dozens or hundreds of cells.

Three cell types

When creating a cell exactly one type is selected (the checkboxes are mutually exclusive — selecting one clears the others):

Whole raw material
Whole, uncut material is stored — chipboard sheets from the factory, MDF panels, uncut blocks. The binding is to the product article (one article can lie in several cells; one cell can contain several articles). This is the "receiving area from the supplier".
Sheet material offcuts
Offcuts and available half-sheets after cutting are stored — specific pieces with known dimensions X × Y × Z. This is the working area where the cutter looks for what to assemble the next order from — so as not to cut a new sheet if a suitable offcut already exists.
Finished orders / pallets
Assembled order pallets waiting to be handed over to the customer are stored. Used by the Order pallets section: production finished the order → packed it → placed it in a cell → marked it in the system → when handing it over to the customer based on the order form, it is immediately visible where it is located.

Fields

Firm
Which firm the cell belongs to. The root firm's administrator sees cells of all firms; on a regular firm — only their own.
Name
The cell identifier, usually following the "row-rack-level" scheme, for example A-3-2. The name should be understandable for the storekeeper who looks for the cell physically.
Colour
Highlighting of the cell in the visual warehouse layouts. You can use colour to mark zones (receiving / cutting / dispatch) or product groups.
Dimensions X / Y / Z (mm)
The physical volume of the cell. Used to calculate occupancy: the total volume of everything stored in it is divided by the cell volume → the fill percentage.
Maximum fill, %
When the fill reaches this threshold, the cell is marked as "full" and is no longer offered for new placement. Usually 80–95% (we leave a margin for access convenience).
Available
The "cell is active" checkbox. Uncheck it — if the cell is temporarily out of use (repairs, rearrangement); deleting is not necessary (the bound stock is preserved).

What matters

  • The more thoroughly the warehouse is split into cells and the more accurately the types are filled in, the less material is "lost". Every offcut in an "offcuts" cell is money that would otherwise go into a new sheet.
  • For "Whole raw material" make large cells for pallets with factory sheets. For "Offcuts" — compact ones with quick access (the cutter returns to them every day).
  • If you have a single workshop without a formal warehouse — you can create one cell of each type ("Raw material", "Offcuts", "Finished"). But splitting by racks at minimum is recommended — it brings real benefit when searching.

An overfilled cell is no longer offered

Once the fill level of a cell reaches its «Maximum fill, %» value, the cell stops being selectable in the lists: in the «Cell» column and when placing a stock item it is still visible, but cannot be chosen. Previously an item could be put in beyond the limit — not any more. To make the cell available again, free it up or raise the limit in its card.
